About and instructions

More detail

• Type a few letters of a title, an author's name (in transliteration or Arabic) or an OpenITI URI into the search box; matching ignores case and diacritics (“tabari tarikh” finds Taʾrīḫ al-rusul wa-l-mulūk of al-Ṭabarī). Choose a book or an author.
• A book profile has five tabs: the book's typology as a whole (bars or the classic radar, and top types), its typology and entropy along the text, its entropy against all books, its nearest books by vocabulary (TF-IDF), and its author.
• An author profile shows the author's typology over all their books (Types; All books, one column per book; Classic (radar)), the books by top type and the list of the books. A chart's choice is part of the page address.
• Profiles have their own addresses, ?book=<bookURI> and ?author=<authorURI>; the NgramReader links to them from its tables of books and authors. The active tab is part of the page address.
• Every plot and table can be downloaded: the data behind it as TSV (or all data of a profile as a zip), the plots as SVG or PNG, in three sizes.
• Section headers (H1, H2) can be shown on the plots along the text. Solid lines: headers of annotated versions (.completed, .mARkdown). Dashed lines: headers from a not yet annotated version; they may be unreliable.

Book titles and author names

Titles and names are shown in transliteration with the Arabic beside the OpenITI URI. Book titles and author names are working labels and may contain errors; the URI is authoritative. The labels were generated with a language model; a raised ^? marks a label flagged as uncertain. Without a label the URI is shown.
